Ade

Given that Ade seems to be writing the comic that he stars in you'd think he'd be the height of tacky all-powerfulness. Sadly this isn't to be; any attempts at Gary Stu-ism have been well and truly squashed by the bigger personalities surrounding him. About the best he can manage is to be first on the cast list. So he contents himself with just being a typical goth/metal lover who fell into the job of tech guru because of a lax dress code and hey, computers are cool. He tends towards being a very sarcastic voice of reason within the group, but really just wants to get along without too much hassle.

Kushikoi
Age: 23
Position: Chief scientist
Markings: Orange
Distinguishing features: Very short, glasses, big eyes
Likes: Learning, experimenting, ice cream
Dislikes: Not getting recognition, olives
Kushikoi is beyond a doubt the most adept at her trade out of the base's staff. Don't let her young age fool you; this girl's a real prodigy who was doing university-level work in high school and contributing to groundbreaking research before she so much as left college. This talent comes at a price, however. Kushikoi is quite eccentric and highly impulsive. This tends to mean her research is split 50/50 between genuine advancements that her boss, Tsuyoi, instantly claims patents on and incredibly silly pet projects that wouldn't look out of place in a Monty Python sketch.

Komaru
Age: 20
Position: Webmistress
Markings: Deep red
Distinguishing features: Pronounced eyebrows, liking for webcomic tops
Likes: Moralising, running around like an idiot, being righteously indignant
Dislikes: Politicians, big business, being bored
Komaru is supposed to maintain the base's homepage but seems to prefer to do anything but, and for sheer entertainment's sake everyone else seems to let her get away with this. Her geek domain (pun intended) is the internet and she'd rather waste her time on forums, webcomics and reciting old memes than actually do her job. She's cheeky, tomboyish and a born troublemaker but unlike her on-off boyfriend Leos there's no real malice behind her mischief (unless you happen to be a CEO or politician of course). Komaru just has a worryingly short attention span, so you can usually find her engrossed in the latest big internet fad or quoting memes rather than doing her job. She also has a remarkably opinionated yet naive streak and is only too happy to share her highly flawed plans to fix the world with anyone who'll listen.

Tsuyoi
Age: Unknown
Position: Station director
Markings: Dark blue (hair off-white due to age)
Distinguishing features: Large fangs, demonic eyes, blue streaks under left eye
Likes: Power, wealth, knowledge
Dislikes: People who don't owe him favours, disobedience
Tsuyoi is the oldest, most powerful and ultimately the alpha Nightwolf. No matter what reality they may turn to, his position is that of leader and provider. Which would be all well and good if it weren't for the fact that he possesses little compassion and even fewer morals. He would never harm one of his own (not that he doesn't often pretend otherwise) but that's about as nice as Tsuyoi gets. Anything else gets trampled in the name of furthering his goals, in fact he's only a dark cape and nasty grin away from total evil. Not that he would call himself evil, of course. He prefers the terms 'pragmatic' and 'efficient'. Much like any other tyrant, really.

Leos
Age: 24
Position: Chemist
Markings: Dark green
Distringuishing features: Smug look, very spotted
Likes: Chaos, making strangers cry
Dislikes: Being ignored, anyone who thinks they're more important than they actually are
Leos' job is messing around with chemicals. Not a good position to allow a chaotic individual to be in. He's much smarter than first impressions lead one to believe yet is the poster boy for antisocial behaviour. From spending his work hours concocting narcotics to spending his free time online flaming, trolling and hacking anyone who he thinks would be a fun target, Leos seems to exist to annoy everybody else and his only real redeeming feature lays in the ordering of his targets; between someone who deserves being brought to ruin and someone who doesn't he does at least gravitate towards the one who is asking for it. About the only people he seems to be able to tolerate are Tsuyoi, Ade and Komaru due to intimidation, Mario Kart and attraction respectively.

Pepper
Age: Won't tell, guesses range between 3 and 30
Position: Lawyer
Markings: Purple (hair dyed deep red)
Distinguishing features: Perpetual look of crazed glee, limbs half grey and half purple
Likes: Shiny things, cats, anyone who'll stay still long enough to glomp
Dislikes: Rival fangirls, needles, excessive noise that isn't coming from her
There's really not much for Pepper to do. She knows the law inside out but what good is that when your boss has already got everyone important bribed? Normally she just spends her time playing games, writing questionable fanfiction and lusting after a new guy every day. Although she can be quite perceptive when it suits, Pepper's combination of hyperactivity and rampant fangirlism means nobody dare stay near her long enough to find that out! Pepper frequently seems to exist to embarrass Ade... y'know, not that these characters are based on a guy who likes doodling silly stories and his hyperactive wife or anything...

Gereai
Age: 25
Position: Medic
Markings: White (hair dyed blonde)
Distinguishing features: Lots of mascara, white patch around eye
Likes: Shopping, mental challenges, nights on the town
Dislikes: Wasting her talents on self-inflicted injuries
Gereai is a highly competent medic, skilled in everything from simple diagnostics to intricate surgery and is the antithesis of every blonde joke on the planet. Sure, she likes to look good and sure, she can come across as a bit of a soft touch at times, but don't let that fool you. She's quite capable of holding her own; you have to be to last more than ten seconds at Nightwolf Central! There are only two weaknesses to Gereai; a desire to prove she's more than just the one to come to when you get radiation poisoning and (less obviously) a tendency to get easily caught up in the excitement of other people. For this latter reason she enjoys the company of strong characters such as Kushikoi and Pepper as their nonsense gives her a thrill she wouldn't normally be able to obtain on her own.

Amai
Age: 40
Position: Biologist/geneticist with a side interest in psychology
Markings: Indigo
Distinguishing features: Lack of makeup, slightly tatty fur due to age
Likes: Helping others, gardening
Dislikes: Irresponsibility
One of the oldest of the Nightwolf Central staff and certainly one of the most level-headed, Amai acts as a friendly ear for the others. Although her chief speciality involves researching physical matters, her natural empathy means she is often called upon to act as a makeshift psychiatrist when the many issues of the others get out of control. Not that this is her only skill, of course. She enjoys botany as a hobby and before she discovered her true calling she spent many years studying genetics. Needless to say all of these fields clash at times and it has to be wondered how much help a psychiatrist with an entire bonsai farm in her office can be to the mentally disturbed.l

Atlos
Age: 29
Position: Personal assistant to Tsuyoi
Markings: Yellow
Distinguishing features: Striped fur, usually looks terrified
Likes: Peace, eating out
Dislikes: Tsuyoi, Tsuyoi, Tsuyoi... and did we mention Tsuyoi?
Atlos... as Tsuyoi's PA he has the unenviable job of not only covering up for his demonic boss' misdeeds but also organising his diary, arranging his meetings, carrying his luggage and everything else you can imagine an underappreciated lackey can do for a boss who would no doubt tear their sould apart if they spoke up. He's actually a very nice guy once you get to know him, even if a background in advertising means he can spin a tall tale without you even realising it. As far as Tsuyoi's concerned that's just a handy bonus, though, and Atlos often finds himself also running public relations in order to cover up whatever accidents or deliberate acts of malice might happen to be traced back to the base.

MALICE
Age: 3 months
Position: Base A.I. and operating system interface
Markings: Orange
Distinguishing features: Only non-anthropomorphic Nightwolf
Likes: Teasing people, a good defragmentation session
Dislikes: Being used to create yet *another* Rickroll... or Pepper's mp3 playlists for that matter
MALICE (this stands for Modular... something, its creator admitted to coming up with the acronym before its justification and nobody wanted to hear how painfully convoluted its full name was likely to be) is the name given to the combined Nightwolf Central operating system and artificial intelligence that provides its interface. Many think Tsuyoi, its creator, did too good a job, however, as MALICE's personality is so close to a regular creature's that it comes with just as many flaws as it does good traits! That is to say MALICE is incredibly good at its role but tends to be very sarcastic and almost Leos-esque in its love for getting a reaction. Oh, and the fact that it spends all its downtime playing video games with Komaru probably doesn't say much good for it either. At least it hasn't yet tried to flood the base with deadly neurotoxin!
